Skin Lesions

The Mirror Of Your Health Is Your Skin

We offer Advanced Electrolysis & Cyrotherapy to remove many common, unwanted benign skin blemishes from the face and body.

Advanced Electrolysis works by employing a fine needle which, transmits an electric current and passes through the blood vessel or lesion to be removed. The heat which is created by the current, seals off the lesion which naturally disintegrates and is disposed of through the body. Advanced Electrolysis is a fast and effective treatment, with minimal downtime.

Whereas, Cyrotherapy is a common treatment used to remove skin lesions by freezing them with liquid nitrogen until they die and fall off. The freezing treatment normally involves 5-10 seconds of the liquid spray being applied locally to the target area, with a break between treatment cycles. The duration and number of treatment cycles depend on the skin type and the nature of the problem. A wide variety of benign, non-cancerous skin abnormalities can be treated with cryotherapy including, areas of sun damage, viral warts, skin tags and flat pigmented moles that show no sinister changes.

Milia Removal

Prices from £99 | Treatments lasts for 20 to 30 mins

  • Milia are small, bump-like cysts found under the skin. They are usually 1 to 2 millimeters (mm) in size. Milia most often appear on the face, commonly around the eyelids and cheeks, though they can occur anywhere. They are formed when keratin becomes trapped under the skin.

The most common type of Milia Removal is carried out using a sterile needle. Once the skin with milia has been cleaned, a sterile needle is used to create a tiny incision and the contents of the milia are carefully extracted.

Skin Tags

Prices from £99 | Treatments lasts for 30 to 40 mins

  • Skin tags can appear smooth or irregular, and may attach to the skin by a short, narrow stalk called a “peduncle.” These harmless lesions are often caused by friction on the skin. Doctors don’t know for certain what causes tags but skin rubbing against skin may play a role, since the growths usually occur among skin folds — in the armpits, neck and groin, and sometimes on eyelids.

Removal of skin tags is simple and quick with electrolysis. The procedure consists of cauterising the skin tag with an electrolysis needle. This allows the electrolysis method to sufficiently destroy the skin tag growth. This simple procedure typically is very quick depending on the size and number of tags; discomfort is minimal.

Seborrheic Keratosis

Prices from £120 | Treatments lasts for 30 to 60 mins

  • Seborrheic keratosis are benign skin growths that some people develop as they age. They often appear on the back or chest, but can occur on any part of the body. Seborrheic keratosis grow slowly, in groups or singly. Most people will develop at least one seborrheic keratosis during their lifetime.

Seborrhoeic Keratosis has a rough, dry, crusty surface, and a range in colour from light brown to mid brown to almost black. Electrolysis is a safe, effective, quick and affordable method of treatment.

Electrolysis utilises a tiny fine probe (about the size of an eyelash) through which a tiny burst of radio frequency alternating current is targeted to gently remove the lesion. It is quick and not painful.

Thread Veins

Prices from £120 | Treatments lasts for 30 to 45 mins

  • Advanced Electrolysis is a tried and tested method for the treatment of thread veins. It removes thread veins with an electrical current. A very small hot sterile needle is placed on the skin over the thread vein, and the current heats up the broken veins and causes them to cauterise (similar to IPL).  This process is called Diathermy.

Another technique used in Advanced Electrolysis is where the needle is actually inserted into the vein itself, especially if the vein is deeper or more widespread. This is called ‘Blend’ and it causes the vein to collapse and disappear.

In both cases the body removes what’s left over. Don’t be alarmed if you see some small crusts, resembling in tiny scratches, forming over the area in the 7 to 10 days after treatment. They will gradually disappear on their own.

Cherry Angiomas

Prices from £120 | Treatments lasts for 20 to 30 mins

  • Cherry angiomas are common skin growths that mainly affect those aged 30 and over. They are surface blemishes, bright red and filled with blood. The can be found anywhere on the body but are most commonly found on the chest, back and stomach areas.

Harmless and simple to treat, they are caused by trauma to the skin, UV damage and ageing. Though usually harmless, they won’t go away of their own accord. Their appearance can be unsightly and can impact self-esteem.

They can be removed safely for cosmetic reasons with Advanced Electroylsis, but we recommend that you see your doctor if your angioma bleeds or changes size, shape or colour.

This is a heat treatment where a probe is inserted into the capillaries and a current is applied which dries and destroys the visible capillaries.
